Rick Stein at Bannisters

On Friday we had dinner at the Rick Stein restaurant at Soldiers Point. Our water view was of rain and mist rather than Port Stephens. The venue was spacious but had a nice atmosphere, and the service was excellent.



We shared the warm shellfish entree and had a whole John Dory as a main (not too big) and a very spicy fish curry. The sourdough bread was the best I have ever had. It comes from Two Bobs Bakery at Nelson Bay so we were there early Saturday morning stocking up.
