Loch Lomond National Park

The first part of our drive from Fort William to Dumfries was through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The scenery was wonderful but parking spaces to enjoy the views were limited. It was sunny until we reached the outskirts of Glasgow, when light rain made motorway driving even less enjoyable.

Dumfries is a town where many of the stores in the old part of town are vacant. Shoppers prefer Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons supermarkets on the edge of town because they are warm on cold days and provide parking. The city of Inverness maintained patronage to the old city stores by  building the new shopping centre in the city.
