Snowdonia Mountain Railway

The weather forecast was accurate in predicting a cloudy morning and sunny afternoon, except above 1000 metres where there was low cloud at the summit of Mount Snowdon.

We travelled on the steam train an hour up and an hour back with 30 minutes at the top. The crowds were horrendous up there! Literally thousands of people walked up the mountain and they all wanted to be able to say they had reached the summit. We walked up the steps towards the summit but stopped about 3 metres below the top because of the crowd. There was no view up there today but on a clear day it is possible to see Ireland.
