Emmdale Roadhouse
The road from Broken Hill was littered with dead kangaroos. On one occasion we were unable to avoid a carcass as a semi trailer was coming from the other direction. No damage other than blood spatter.
We pulled into the Emmdale Roadhouse for a cup of tea and lunch. Tea was served in a teapot by a British backpacker who has only been in Australia for a month and loves the outback (with the compensation of wifi to keep up with their friends and family back home). There was a good selection of teas and fresh milk instead of long-life.
Our animal spotting includes emus and their chicks, kangaroos and wallabies, goats, sheep, cattle and snakes.
