Day 2 - Tuesday 6 June
We needed caffeine to partially overcome the jetlag before walking down to Japantown. We should have gone later as most of the shops and restaurants were not open.
After researching the public transport system we managed to get a bus close to the REI outdoor shop we had found thanks to google. REI sells pants that we can only buy online in Australia so we spent a couple of hours trying on and deciding what to buy.
Day 3 - Wednesday 7 June
Our outing for the day was to the Castro. June is Pride month in San Francisco and there was no shortage of rainbow flags, including pedestrian crossing (crosswalk) in rainbow colours.
Anita is counting out money to pay for our lunch at a diner at the corner of Castro and Mission. There are rainbow flags in every main shopping centre but Bloomingdale's had a flag hanging down 4 floors.
